Godfrey Digiorgi represents the Evolutionist Pentaxian. Hard to put a finger on, Godfrey uses photography to study life and explore his curiosities.
I started in photography when I was very young: the first camera I chose was a 16mm subminiature 'spy camera'. After I started high school, I bought a Nikon F. That camera was with me constantly throughout high school and into college, the first of a series of Nikons I had until I started using digital cameras thirty-three years later.
I’d been using a Canon for a couple of years when a friend told me about the PENTAX digital SLRs. I bought one to gave it a try, found I liked using it more. It was a natural evolution, one of the transitional events happening right at the time I had decided to go from being a photo-hobbyist to a full-time photographer.
I had entered a career in science at NASA years before, and later went to work on computer technology at Apple Computer. Photography was not only a tool for exploring my technical curiosities; it became a way of studying life itself. As I pursue photography professionally, I continue to examine my everyday surroundings and capture the natural progressions of light, sound, movement, and geometry that construct the story of life's moment.
